Halloween. Why people get so gassed up for this not so holiday? I don’t know but, I think I have some what of an idea. People grab at the opportunity to be someone else. Some people would dress up and wear a mask everyday if they could. Some people actually do. They may not dress up but, they wear a mask. Truthfully, while being someone else some people are really just being themselves. Or on Halloween they become who they are afraid to be in real life.
For instance, the spoiled little girl that wants to be a “princess” every Halloween. Or take the promiscuous woman who dresses up as a “prostitute”. What about the little boy that always tries to save his mother from the hand of his father? Superman or some type of hero will be his choice. What about the girl who secretly freestyles in her room every night and dresses up as Hip Hop on Halloween?
My question is: why wait until October 31st to express who you really are? Or better yet why don’t we “just be” instead of worrying about what others think? We should never have to wait until a designated day to be who we want to be. Just as we shouldn’t have to wait around for Christmas to give people gifts.

We follow because most people are conditioned to follow. It's called being a part of the crowded road. Only a few people in life will choose a path less traveled.
