Liberating Minds

By Glennisha Morgan

“We have to talk about liberating minds as well as liberating society.”-Angela Davis.

Miss Davis couldn’t have said it any better. Today we live in a society where almost everyone is homophobic. Almost everyone believes that Muslims are terrorists and truthfully a lot of people aren’t voting for a presidential candidate simply because he’s Black. There is something wrong with that. A huge change definitely needs to take place but, where? It needs to take place in the minds of people. People have got to open their minds and open their eyes.

Food For Thought...
· Skin color has nothing to do with a person’s capability to run a country,
· Your definition of marriage or a committed relationship isn’t necessarily omeone else’s.

· Africa is a continent not a country.
· Just because other countries do things differently than your country doesn’t make them wrong or make what your country does right.
· Just because someone reveals to you that they’re gay doesn’t mean they want you.
· No religion is truly better than another.
· Most real terrorist groups were started because their country or their people have been oppressed, so can we truly call defending yourself and country terrorism?
· Bisexuals are not confused.
· The world isn’t just Black and White.
